Cornwall Central High School took the top ranking for Orange County and was No. 108 overall in the state.
The rankings are based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users.
Cornwall received high marks for its teachers, college preparation, clubs and activities as well as health and safety.
Other high schools in Orange County to make the list included:
- James I. O'Neill (Highland Falls) – No. 142
- Monroe - Woodbury – No. 165
- Goshen – No. 178
- Warwick Valley – No. 192
Neighboring Rockland County also had several schools ranked among the best in the Empire State.
